The
Woman Named Louise
Refrain:
Through the narrow streets of Paris,
Come the footsteps of a woman named Louise;
The poor and hungry there
Waited for her loving care,
Christ came to them
In a woman named Louise.
1. The loneliness she
felt in her childhood
Did not embitter the heart for Louise
For she knew God’s love
And entrusted in His care
And each cross she carried
Prepared her for God’s work on earth.
(Ref.)
II. O St. Louise, our
fervent prayer
With holy joy arise to thee,
On your family gathered here on earth
Spread the glow of charity
And its glorious guiding light.
