College of Pharmacy conquers Tagisan Ng Talento

College of Pharmacy, last year’s 1st runner up, got the title champion in Tagisan ng Talento 2016 with their piece “K” at Rendu Cultural Gymnasium, Sacred Heart College (SHC), August 12.

“K” was written by Ckiana Calaycay and directed by Daniel Calzado. It is a story about how a man reached out for help after he killed the man who abused his sister.

College of Teacher Education who was last year’s champion ranked 1st runner up with their piece “Balasa” which spun on the Four Aces namely: Government, Nature, Education, and Religion. Both the script and the directorship courtesy of Kristel Apelo who won as best director while best actor was Aldwin Garcia, the protagonist in the story.

With white faces clad in red cloaks, College of Psychology’s story revolved in an honest man that the criminals wanted to plunge in their world of sin entitled “PAT-AWA-D” written by Danielle Liwag and directed by Cidra Cordero. Ayra Baysan, from the same department, was awarded best supporting actress.

Senior High School was not an exemption as they performed their piece entitled “Ispiyo”, which won best script. Written by Dexter Umali.the story entailed a bewitching tale of wishes in front of a mirror as well as the best supporting actor, Vincent Roi Pera from the SHS – Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS).

College of Liberal Arts showcased talents with their piece entitled “Sa Awa ng Ama,” emphasized on the wrongness of extrajudicial killings. The performance was written and directed by Leigh Estella,

“Karapatang Inalis ng mga Kawatan”, an entry of the College Of Business Administration written by Nicca Ramos and directed by Kevin David, revolved in a story of dictatorship and Martial Law.

The combined brains of the Colleges of Social Work and Computer Science presented “Sa Likod ng Pinto ng Awa” script by Rica Mae Pelaez and directed by Lisette Ann Sandoval which focused on the tale of how a generous family faced poverty. In the story of “SISIDLAN”, College of Nursing presented a story of a doctor blamed for not saving a patient, written by Wrean Izabelle M. Barron.

Judges of the event were Mr. Dionisio Barredo Jr., Mr. Angelo Villanueva, Mr. John Leonard A. Casiño and Dr. Marites Regalia. Mr. Angelo Villanueva, chairman of the judges said, “Lahat naman sila deserving manalo. Ang gagaling nila.” (All of them deserve to win. They are all talented.)

Mr.Tom R. Alvarez and Ms. Mary Rose R. Pelindiana served as masters of ceremony.
