“BSBA Marketing Shines in Eminence: Enriching the Rising Ground to Marketing Excellence”

The Junior Marketing Association of Sacred Heart College tests their event planning prowess as they organize the first intercollegiate seminar in Quezon Province aptly titled “Eminence: Enriching the Rising Ground to Marketing Excellence” at the Pacific Mall Event Theater last December 3, 2016. Schools who attended were South Luzon State University, Maryhill College, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, PUP- General Luna, Calayan Educational Foundation Inc., City College, and AMA. The marketing-centric seminar deliver knowledge and information about business and marketing and also promote unity and camaraderie among the Junior Marketing Association members of the Quezon Province. Young marketing student leaders of different organizations were given a chance to impart information with each other about objectives of their organizations and to align them with those that will be beneficial for all the members across the region.

Sr. Mary Ann Gevarra, the Vice-President for Finance and Administration welcomed the participants with a speech tackling the importance of the event to acquire experiential learning. The first speaker was Mr. Pablito Budoy, DTI Quezon Business Development Unit Head who explained to the participants the role of the government in assisting the MSME. Mr. Budoy expertly connect the role of the government in spreading entrepreneurship. During lunch time, the participants were entertained by a number of intermission numbers followed by “Eminence Next Tough Model” a game designed by organizers to test the advertising skills of participating schools’ representatives.

The second speaker was the COO of and fashion stylist of celebrities, Ms. Sky Gavin. She shared her knowledge on how to build a strong online presence and at the same time explained the ABC’s of blogging. She also gave tips about business to students who shared about their own online businesses. The third speaker for the day was Mr. Armando Bartolome. He is known as the “Angelpreneur” of GoNegosyo, “The Franchise Guru”, “The Business Mentor”, is a columnist, chairman of the Association of Filipino Franchisers Inc., and the author of the book “Is Franchising for You?. He educated the attendees about what franchising is and the different types of franchising. Another intermission number was performed by representatives from different partner school.

The last speaker of the seminar was Mr. Sean Si, an internet marketing consultant and the CEO and Founder of SEO Hacker and QERYZ. He shared the inspiring story of his journey from being a below average student to a CEO at the age of 22. Throughout his talk he gave students tips on what to do and not to do in order to succeed. He also stated some virtues which a person should always possess. The event ended with awarding of certificates to partner schools and distribution of certificates to attendees and photo opportunities.

Through the efforts of the SHC Junior Marketing Association president Ms. Aracel Quevada and all the officers, and with the support of the club moderator, Ms. Anna Lisa Mendiola, Dean of the College of Business Administration, Mr. Arnel Cadelina, Sr. Mary Ann Guevarra, and the Sacred Heart College administration, the event was successful and the goals set for this activity were fully met. Attendees were given knowledge not only about the business world but also about how a person can truly achieve their goals and be successful in their life.
