#JPMAP Face of the future

Twenty-One members of Junior People Management Association of the Philippines (JPMAP)-Sacred Heart College chapter joined their fellow JPMAP members in a Human Resources seminar dubbed as the future in HR held last February 11, 2018 at the University of Santo Tomas.

The first speaker, Mr. Rene M. Gener DPM, shared the Top Ten Movies that highlighted innovation, speed, artificial intelligence, metrics and analytics, digital workplace, flexibility, talent and succession planning and courage. Tomorrow Land for innovation, Fast & Furious for speed, I Robot for artificial intelligence, The Fault in our Stars for metrics and analytics, Matrix for simulated reality/technology, The Social Networks for digital workplace, Inside Out for flexibility in the organization, World War Z for the Advent of Gen Z, Fantastic Beasts for finding talents and succession planning and The Red Badge of Courage for courage. Mr. Gener stated that these 10 attributes are not just essential for the future of the workplace but it is also essential for the efficiency, decision making, and productivity of the organization at the present.

The second speaker, Mr. Geoffrey Nuval tackled Gamification and the Spectrum of Fun. Gamification is all about incorporating fun and games towards learning at work. Game has 3 elements namely; Objectives/Goals, Rules/ Boundaries and Motivation. Mr. Nuval, presented the Spectrum of Fun or the 7 Motivational drives. Namely, The Hero Drive, Accomplishment Drive, Creative Drive, Competitive Drive, The Social Drive, Curiosity Drive and lastly, Chase Drive.

The last speaker, Engr. Cristopher David who is the Founder/Executive Director of VR Philippines and Co-Founder/CTO of Veer Technologies discussed the uses of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality in Human Resources. VR and AR are the new medium for artistic expression and they have the potential to change the way we interact with the world. He stated that AR/VR is useful in Recruitment and Onboarding, Trainings and in the Workplace. He ended his talk by saying that with Virtual and augmented Reality we could revolutionize the way humans interact with computers and information with the world around us and with one another. The afternoon’s session of sharing gainful insights on the Future of Human Resources is very beneficial to the hundreds of future HR Practitioners especially the Cordian HR Students.
