JPAMA Joins Management Accounting Regional Seminar

Management Accounting students from Region IV-A gather together for the first time last December 4, 2016 SHC at DLSU-Dasmarinas to attend the seminar “ SURGE of the Future Accounting Professionals.

Ninety three Cordians with their Moderator Ms. Krisha Medrano attended and listened to Mr. Allan Jay Evangelista, CPA, CMA who talked about Certified Management Accounting Certification and the competitive edge it brings. CMA being a globally-accredited certification, according to Mr. Evangelista, may improve credential deficiencies amidst the ASEAN Integration and Global Competition. Thus, a comprehensive introduction of the CMA Program and Exam, and the discussion of its career opportunities and employability rate are timely.

The second speaker is Mr. Jowell Bitas, PH.D who talked about Business Intelligence: Pursuing the Big Shift. Mr. Bitas said that contemporary accounting involves the power of technology and it is demonstrated in Business Intelligence. Today, it is a necessity to become aware of the virtual commands, management and accounting tools and software that can help make accurate, effective and efficient decision making.

Mr. Aurelio Mari Gueco, CFE meanwhile talks about Management Controls: Establishing Accounting Investigation, Internal Control is an essential subject matter of accounting that failure of Integration may cause great financial and resource losses to an organization. This portion will provide knowledge of the ethical ways in overseeing an organization to prevent errors, frauds and other problems that may lead to inaccurate decision makings.

Mr. Enrique Florencio, MBA, CSAP, CPAE he talks about Social and Environment Accounting: Demonstrating Green Thinking. Commitment of management to social and environemental accounting is an advocacy turned mandate. It is a crucial factor to always incorporate social and environmental welfare in management decisions, especially to prevent and fortunately lessen society and environment complications. Knowledge of the present issues may help advocate this need.

The seminar is a big eye opener to the Cordians Management Accounting Students as they appreciate their future career direction.
