The Annual Alumni gathering of the College of Nursing was held last December 29, 2008 at Herman Fausta Hall. It was a whole day activity started with a motorcade at 7:30 in the morning. Tinton Suarez Batch 94 and Gene Vertudazo Batch 91 and current president of the BSN alumni Association hosted the program. After the presentation of the participants by batches, A Symposium followed which is the main activity of the celebration.
Sr. Carmen Jimenez, D.C. Dean, College of Nursing welcomed the alumni and gave the first talk on the topic, “Recreating the Image of Cordian Nurses.” After the talk Rev. Fr. Dennis Abuel C.M., and BSN Batch 92 shared his talk on the Topic: “Caring Ethics”. Finally the last speaker of the symposium was Mr. Jun Cruzat who tackled topics on “Nursing Spirituality”.
The activity was highlighted by the Eucharistic Thanksgiving at 11:00 o’clock officiated by Rev. Fr. Abuel. Renewal of their Nightingale pledge a commitment to the Nursing Profession and consecration to Mary were recited just before the final blessings.
Lunch was served right after the Eucharistic Celebration.
Election of New sets of officer started the afternoon activity: Noriel Garcia of Batch 1990 was elected President, Marivic Nacorda-Napeñas Batch 1993 as the Vice President. Alfredo Lavarro Batch 1996 as Secretary. Japs Vergara also of Batch 93 as treasurer, Val Hurboda batch 2006 as PRO and Arlene De Rama of Batch 94 as Auditor.
After the election of officers Parlor Game activities followed. Door Prizes and awarding of certificates were also given The affair ended almost 4:00 o’clock in the afternoon.
