 GRADUATE SCHOOL GOES ON-LINE
On June 29, 2010, Miss Ma. Lourdes Angela Manga, a Master of Science in Nursing student based in California, USA defended her thesis proposal entitled “Stressors and Coping Mechanisms of Filipino Nurses working Overseas: Basis for the Development of Pre-Deployment Program” via on-line. She came up with this study to assist future nurses intending to work abroad to overcome fears of separation, culture and religious differences, communication and language difficulties and other problems which she herself experienced.
She also shared that she intends to send her questionnaire to about 100 graduates of Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Sacred Heart College, batch 2005 – 2009 who are working in ten (10) countries of the world.
Miss Manga has been working on her thesis since 2009 with her adviser, Mrs. Vivian Dedace who have been exchanging communication through e-mails.
The members of the panel, Dr. Josefina M. Parentela, the Dean of the Graduate School, Mrs. Teresita Cada and Miss Ma. Lucila Baroro expressed their appreciation for both the advisee and the adviser for their efforts in promoting quality education through on-line study.
