The Ysmael V. Baysa Finance Cup is an annual finance competition that provides business students to prove their ability to answer finance theories and applications. Finance students all over Region IV join this contest also to enhance the quality, competence and professionalism of students, and serves as an instrument in the gradual exposure of students in the actual practice in the field of business and finance.
The Sacred Heart College team is composed of Marivic Constantino - BSBA 1, Monica Paola Noscal - BSBA 4FM, Cedrick Sy - BSBA 4FM, Denzel Avery Villaflores - BSBA 4FM and Chris Angelo Quinto - BSA 4. While the second group was composed of James Roño - BSBA 1, Rea Landoy - BSBA 4FM, Gail Kristel Ong - BSBA 4MA, Ancilla Mae Camelon - BSBA 4MA and Jaime Joseph Pantua - BSA 4.
The March 30, 2019 contest at EMRC VI (ABC), AEC Building of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation was organized by the Junior Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines – MSEUF.
The two teams of Sacred Heart College, battled schools like : Calayan Educational Foundation Inc., Maryhill College, Inc., Polytechnic University of the Philippines - Lopez and others. The competition asked the participants several questions on financial situations patterned after international standards and reflecting topics found in the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Level 1 Curriculum. This field of study aims to expose students to world class finance standards and prepare them for a global career in the finance industry.
The SHC Team 1 scored a total of 225 points catapulting them in the 2nd place. On the other hand, SHC Team 2 scored a total of 210 points landing them in the 4th spot. The Junior Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines - MSEUF gave Sacred Heart College a PLAQUE OF RECOGNITION for being awarded as the overall FIRST RUNNER UP in the 8th Ysmael V. Baysa Finance Cup with the theme, Bottom Line: Coping up with Industry Disruptors.
