Amidst the inclement weather due to typhoon “Hanna”, the Student Catholic Action of the Philippines (SCAP) of Sacred Heart College had its General Assembly at the Rendu Cultural Gymnasium last Saturday, August 03, 2019. The activity aimed to acquaint each member with one another and to establish cohesiveness and unity among the members and officers of the organization.
In the opening remarks delivered by the SCAP moderator, Mr. Andrian Reglos, he discussed the organization’s background and some of its future plans. He stressed that the organization is a platform to mold and shape the leaders amoung the members of SCAP. The program continued with interesting activities like finding each one’s groupmates through shouting animals’ sounds, with a blindfold. A yell competition showing the members’ creativity was also held. Games were played by old and new members who ardently showed their unity, trust, and cohesiveness despite not being familiar with each other yet.
The welcoming rites was initiated by the moderator with the help of the officers. The participants formed two circles, with the new members at the inner circle and old members anointing each one. It was then followed by the singing of the SCA Hymn and closing prayer led by Ms. Flobeth Manzano, SCAP member. To maintain the upkeep of the gymnasium, SCAP officers and members did the restoration.
Ms. Janella Ombrete and Ms. Aila Bibe, SCAP officers and masters of the ceremony, also introduced the present SCAP officers in the general assembly.
