Sacred Heart College together with partner firms SARCA Estate Development Corporation and ELS Consultancy and Management, Inc led the groundbreaking ceremony of the 5-storey IBED building today, December 18.
The program started with a prayer led by Mr. Arnel L. Cadeliña, Health and Safety Officer, followed by an introduction from Mr. Lloyd Alzola, IBED Principal. Alzola affirms that said construction is a product of a strong desire and love for the institution and that the building signifies SHC’s aim to continuously provide quality education. “I can imagine brilliant smiles from our students seen behind the glasses of this edifice, which will soon be our second home,” Alzola said.
The statement of purpose were delivered by Sr. Ma Luisa Javier, DC, President of SHC. “Coming together is beginning, working together is progress,” she said in her opening statement. Sr. Malu underscored that everything comes to fruition because of everyone fervently praying for it. ”We pray together so that the building will rise smoothly as planned, anything done out of love will always help some things to be accomplished. She expressed her gratitude to everyone who helped and are continuously helping for the putting up of the building.
After Sr. Malu’s message, the blessing of the groundbreaking materials including the capsule followed, which was spearheaded by Msgr. Dennis Imperial, Rector of St. Ferdinand Cathedral.
The groundbreaking rites and time-capsule laying were led by Sr. Maria Luisa Javier, DC, President, SHC; Engr. Recaredo L. Sarmiento IV, President, SARCA Estate Development Corp.; Ar/EnP Hector Michael Balanak, Lead Architect; Sr. Maria Ruby Engay, DC, VP for Administrative Services and Finance and Building Construction Manager, SHC; and Emelia L. Salanguit, President of ELS Consultancy & Management, Inc.
SHC personnel, alumni, and stakeholders were present to witness the historic event.
The five-storey building will house the IBED classrooms, IBED-related offices, computer laboratories, clinic, and other various specialized learning/laboratory rooms.
Mr. Narciso Cruzat, Vice-President for Student Development and Well-Being, served as Master of Ceremony.
