The Sacred Heart College Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants and alumni in partnership with the Parish Council on Economic Affairs (PCEA) of the Parish of St. Catherine conducted the annual carolling/gift-giving at Pagbilao, Quezon last December 20, 2019. The twenty- year old tradition of the PCEA is supported by the BSA students and alumni when Mr. Napoleon Lusterio became president of PCEA in 2011.
The recipients are financially indigent families from different barangays and sitios in Pagbilao selected by the president of Sangguniang Tagapangasiwa ng Munting Sambayanang Kristiyano (STMSK) , the former name of the MSK council, now called Kapitbahayan Kristiyanong Katiwala. The gifts are rice, bihon, fruit cocktail, corned beef, meat loaf, fuji apple, chocolate, cookies, soap, toothpaste, face powder, shampoo, bread, towel, at one time - bed sheet and slippers, some toys for kids, soft drinks and others costing around P1,000 per family for 25 families or more. The carolling fund came from contributions from BSA alumni, some teachers, sometimes voluntary contributions by students and from the personal fund of Mr. Lusterio.
According to Mr. Lusterio, the annual carolling/gift-giving activity will help the BSA students and alumni to see the real picture of poverty so that in the future they would also be generous, charitable and open in helping the poorest of the poor.
