A disaster management training-seminar was held today at Sacred Heart College gymnasium organized by National Training Service Program (NSTP) headed by Mr. Eduard Mancilla, NSTP Coordinator, in partnership with Cordian Crime Prevention Council (CCPC) headed by Mr. Richard Vergara. In attendance were 300+ NSTP students and facilitators, with officers and members of CCPC.
Speaker-trainers were Mr. Ma-el Bustamante, SHC BSN alumnus and team from Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of Candelaria, who discussed about Disaster Management.
Mr. Juddie P. Garcia talked and demonstrated Basic Life Saving and CPR Techniques and Mr. Marvin Licoto shared about Triangular Bandage and First Aid. Mr. Garcia and Mr. Licoto are from Provincial DRRMC.
"It's everybody's duty and responsibility to ensure safety and be aware on what to do before, during, and even after a disaster," said Garcia.
Dr. Maria Lucila Baroro, Dean of CoTEd delivered opening remarks. She emphasized the relevance and importance of the seminar-training especially now that the Philippines is facing a lot of unfortunate incidents and calamities.
Mr. Rey Rodil, SDO Director, gave the message of thanks to the speaker-trainers on behalf of SHC.
