Welcome Unified National Research Conference

February 7-9, 2020

About UNRC

The gap between undergraduate education and real world practice is well documented (Ardley 2006; Clark, Gray and Mearman 2006; Stein, Isaacs and Andrews 2004; Stringfellow, Ennis, Brennan and Harke 2006). Thus, the need to bridge the gap between theory and praxis has necessitated the conduct of research in various educational institutions that reflects the complexity of real life and grapples meaningfully with real workplace challenges. Further, the claim of mismatched competencies in Senior High School and Higher Educational Institution’s curricula and the needed competencies in the actual workplace is an evidence of said gap.

Various professional organizations in research around the country have made their way in convening researchers across disciplines to disseminate salient findings and breakthroughs on different interesting relevant topics in research. However, only a few has organized a research assembly or conference that will look into filling in the gap between the existing curricula and the actual needed competencies in industries or actual workplace.

It is in this premise that the Institutional Research and Development Office of Sacred Heart College, Lucena City would like to convene the teacher-researchers in the country through a unified research conference on February 7-9, 2020 at St. Jude Cooperative Hotel and Event Center, Brgy. Domoit, Lucena City. This is dubbed as UNIFIED NATIONAL RESEARCH CONFERENCE 2020, with the theme “Paradigm Shift in Research Towards Connecting Curriculum and Industries”.

This Unified National Research Conference would like to convene all researchers in various educational institutions in the country and make them dialogue with industries to discuss matters pertaining to theory and praxis, thereby meaningfully preparing the students to the actual workplace in the future.

OBJECTIVES

This research conference would like to achieve the following objectives:

1.  help in the fund raising campaign of SHC in its rebuilding project;
